Remove accents

The page decomposes the text and deletes diacritics. Ç becomes c. ã becomes a.

The result shows up here.

How it works

Unicode NFD splits a letter from its accent, and the combining mark is removed. “coração” becomes “coracao”. The same pass works for other Latin languages you paste in.

This does not translate. For a URL, run the result through the slug tool, which also turns spaces into hyphens.

Questions

Do emoji disappear?

No. They are not diacritics.

Is the original destroyed?

No. The source stays in the field. Copy the output only when you want it.

What about æ or ß?

They are not combining accents, so they stay. This tool does not apply language-specific transliteration.
